“While I was Director of Title I of No Child Left Behind in the Muscogee County School District (MCSD), Don Barefield gave presentations for the Parenting Component of the Title I program. He gave presentations in several schools in MCSD. I was fortunate enough to be present when he addressed parents, parent coordinators, and guests as the keynote speaker during a special event entitled Parent University. During Mr. Barefield’s keynote speech, I, along with most of the audience, was genuinely impressed and captivated as he recounted true stories of his experiences when, as a young adult, he worked in Miami, Florida in what he termed “one of the toughest schools in America.” The wisdom which he conveyed in his management of young people was remarkable. At our Parent University, he also presented four workshop sessions: “The Four Components of Effective Discipline”, “Designing a Plan for Parenting”, “Parenting in a High Tech World” and “Parent-Teacher-Student: A Team Effort”. He left the attendees with a variety of strategies for managing behavior. Those strategies could be used by parents, by teachers, and by anyone who works closely with youth. I highly recommend Don Barefield’s services.”

“It was obvious, the moment I met Don Barefield, I heard his passion for improving relationships between parents and their children. Don will keep your full attention by articulating real stories of his incredible life blended with the technological deceptions flooding our children through all forms of media. Don not only presents the problems facing parents today but he brings down to earth valuable recipes and solutions for raising children in a way that honors God, respects parental guidance, and cherishes their own lives in a society determined to harm them.
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn information you won’t hear anywhere else.“

“Don is a wealth of information for the parent and educator who wish to reach children’s hearts and implement consistent discipline at home and in the classroom. His background is diverse and his presentation style is such that he appeals to every audience member, no matter their background. Don provides wisdom, humor, encouragement, and very practical solutions that will truly change the way you parent your child and the way you educate your students.”

“Parents learning good parenting skills is critical to the success of their children, both in school and in life. One of the most difficult areas for parents is disciplining their children. We were fortunate at Wilson Elementary School to have Don Barefield conduct two workshops for our parents on effective discipline. Mr. Barefield skillfully presented strategies and ideas, often using role play and parent interaction to support his strategies. Several parents at the second workshop shared some of the strategies from the first workshop that had already been successful for them. Parents left the workshops feeling empowered to become more effective parents. Mr. Barefield’s workshops were practical and user-friendly for parents who truly want to make positive changes in their family dynamics!”

“I wasn’t even aware that what my son needed was more effective discipline, because, really, I thought I already knew how to discipline! My son’s behavior problems in school were continuing to escalate. The pressure from school administrators and other professionals had escalated as well. Don visited our house several times, and taught me discipline strategies that were easy for me to implement and that were amazingly effective. It wasn’t just discipline that changed my son; the same strategies worked for our reward system as well. Our lives were completely changed! My son did not stop being an active little boy; however, I now have the tools to confidently and effectively change his behavior before it escalates. My son is now an AP student, he is in his third year of ROTC, and was recently added to his school’s Chamber Orchestra. Don’s guidance has had a huge impact on our family, and I could never thank him enough.”

Don is charismatic and creative in his speech. I enjoyed his ability to think outside the box in regards to parenting. Don exemplified excellent speaking skills as his topics were on point and very clear. He has a way of conveying current parenting situations and gives excellent ideas on how to prevent and handle them. Don has certainly made an impact on our church and how I will teach children in our ministry, as well as my own children at home.

“I recently went to one of Don’s Parenting Reformation Weekend Conferences. Don was engaging, high energy and genuine. He is an excellent speaker. I was pleasantly surprised with information presented. I consider myself a good parent and a good businessman. So, I didn’t necessarily expect new ideas to change my parenting approach in a 2 day conference. But, it did! I left the conference with a new outlook and some great new tools regarding discipline. These principles will also work very well in my business. Useful information in a conference is refreshing. Don also is not afraid to tell you the truth about what your kids are seeing and doing in today’s digital world. Great job Don and I look forward to future conferences.”

“Don Barefield brings a refreshing excitement about school for both teachers and students. He reminds us that education has many facets- relationships, opportunities, discipline, and knowledge to name a few. His vast experience from inner-city public school to homeschool allows him to reach any and every audience. Don reminds us why we choose to be educators in the first place!”

“Just like leadership can be defined in one word- influence, communication can be described in one word- connection. Don truly knows how to connect with people of all cultures and backgrounds. His great passion to connect with people and his hard work ethic make him a fantastic communicator. Teaching in the inner city of Miami, his passion as a father and husband and his success in the business world give him an intense ability to communicate. I find him to be passionate, authentic and crystal clear. If given the chance, people will be informed and inspired. It is with no hesitation I give my highest recommendation of Don.”

“I have personally attended workshops that Don Barefield has conducted. Each event was captivating, informative, and pertinent, while remaining true to the topic given. While the attendance at the various events varied, Mr. Barefield has a talent for tailoring his delivery to the number of persons present and for engaging audience participation in various exercises that foster discussion and help lead to good conclusions. Without reservation, I recommend and encourage the use of Don Barefield’s presentations for a single program or for a series of programs.”

“I have known Don Barefield for 32 years as I served as his family’s pastor for 28 years. I have watched Don grow and mature as a husband and parent. Don is uniquely qualified to communicate these strategic truths to parents as Don is teaching out of some valuable experiences in his own life. He taught in our church on occasion for me. I would recommend him to you as he would be a valuable asset to your parents.“
